Braces straighten your teeth, and retainers help keep them that way. After your braces are taken off, your teeth naturally try to shift back to their old positions. That’s why retainers are important; they hold your teeth in place. Without wearing your retainers, your teeth can move again, and you might need braces again to fix them and will cost you again.

Retainer Instructions after Orthodontic Treatment

  • ● After removing braces, we will take a digital scan of your teeth for the retainers

  • ● We create clear plastic retainers using a 3d printer.

  • ● In the first month, wear them the whole day and take them off only for eating and brushing.

  • ● We’ll schedule a visit to assess the condition. If it looks stable, then we will allow you to wear it only before sleeping for the next 6 months.

  • ● After 6 months, wear only at night, after that, but if you wear for 1 to 2 nights only, that will be good enough to keep teeth in place.

How to take Care of Your Retainer

  • ● To keep the retainer clean, you can clean it with a toothbrush or use mild hand soap after every use

  • ● The best is to use a retainer bright and clean with it once a week.

  • ● To use a retainer bright, fill a cup with warm water, put one tablet into it, and it will start bubbling. Put a retainer in it and let it be there for 15 to 20 minutes. After it, remove and rinse your retainer thoroughly with cool water before wearing it.

Other Guidance

  • ● If you are eating outside, where you have to remove the retainer so put it in your car or in your bag. Most people lose their retainers at restaurants.

  • ● If you have kids or a dog at home, keep them in a safe place, as they both love to chew.

  • ● Always keep a retainer in the box that we have provided you. This way, it has fewer chances of getting lost.

  • ● Whenever you visit us for any reason, keep your retainer as well. We will look at their condition and will clean it for you.
