Post Operative Instructions for Sealants

Once the sealants are done, now, it's time to take care of it to have the most of it. Taking proper care of it can make it last for 4 to 5 years. But, with no proper care of it can make it last only for 1 to 2 years. Let's see all the post-operative instructions for sealants

  • ● Stick to a soft diet for at least 12 hours after the procedure so the material hardens properly.

  • ● If your child is complaining about it feeling different and uncomfortable after the procedure, then dont worry about it, as it will get solved on its own once the excess material wears away.

  • ● Teach your child not to eat chewy, sticky, and hard foods for at least 1 to 2 days after the procedure, as it can remove sealants from the tooth. You can continue eating all this after 2 days, but it's better to avoid it for the long term. Avoiding all these will be beneficial for oral health as well as for the sealants to last more.

  • ● For the areas between the teeth, where the sealants are not available. So, you have to clean for yourself with proper brushing and flossing.

  • ● Since proper care can make sealants last for 3 to 5 years. So, the proper care of it includes, daily 2 times brushing, flossing, avoiding sticky & hard foods, and dental appointments after 6 months. If you visit us as your regular appointment, we will make sure that everything is fine. And, following this routine, we can assure you that your child's sealants last for 4 to 5 years.
